We knew we were onto a good thing after we had a sneaky taste of this wine
when it first arrived. “High quality wine at an affordable price” this little
beauty does not disappoint.
Expect dark cherry, plum and mushroom aromas, followed by intense fruit
flavours and velvety, fine tannins. Utilising Burgundian wine making techniques,
the wine is also matured in French oak casks for ten months following pressing.
Ben, Chris and Dan from Pinot Unearthed offer the below reviews:
Ben Edwards: “Bright colour; hints of sage and thyme offset the incredibly
pure and precise black fruit offering; the structure is fine and firm, but the
black laden fruit core drives this wine from start to finish; hedonistic in its
appeal, for while it shows real muscle, the movement beneath is light, artistic
and beautifully formed.”
Chris Crawford: “Dark red fruits with seductive spice, pretty and layered
with lots of depth; stunning, explosive palate, with bright cherried fruit and
silky tannins; crunchy bright acid contains bucket loads of flavour; pretty and
focused with great length.”
Dan Sims: “Again deep dark, purple in colour though bright and intense. Ripe
and generous plum and dark cherry fruit, with subtle spice and complexity adding
multiple layers and personality to the wine, fresh and fragrant, appealing and
well constructed, very good indeed.”
