This bottle opener is the best way to extract dry or old crumbly corks when corkscrews simply won't work. Also known as The Butlers Friend, it is made in Germany and is made of pewter (the handle and protective sheath) and stainless steel (the prongs).

How does it work? Insert the longer prong between one side of the cork and the neck of the bottle, jiggle while pushing down until the second prong enters the other side of the cork. Gently rock side to side while pushing down until both prongs are fully inserted then twist and pull gently until cork is removed. A great gift idea for the serious wine collector.
