The Perfect Storage Environment

Cigars can be stored a few weeks, or more than 20 years (there are no rules).

The environment in which they are stored has a direct impact on the quality of cigars.  Temperature and humidity changes can adversely affect the quality of cigars.

It is recommended that temperature should be maintained between 180C and 220C.

Humidity rate should be maintained between 65% and 72%.

  • Not enough humidity in the conservation environment can dry the cigar leading to loss of flavour.
  • Too much humidity in the conservation environment can soak the Tobacco and the cigar leaves making it hard to light due to moisture content.

Air quality is also very important as cigars can absorb the taste of the product of their conservation environment.
