These offer a wonderful opportunity to meet our team, taste wine, and importantly, learn from key wine makers and experts in the world of fine wine. Of course, there is always the opportunity to also purchase what you taste. Our events range from larger scale experiences to small intimate affairs and numbers are often limited so it’s wise to get in early.

Back and better than ever in our brand new Melbourne Showroom.

We’re particularly fond of our HQ events. They’re an opportunity to open some great wines, have a good chat about them one on one, and get everyone out in time for dinner. We always open some big hitters, some gems from the cellar, current alert offers and some of our favourite ready-to-drink wines of the moment.

Take a stroll through Italy, guided by the MacPhee’s Fine Wine Team. We have a great passion for the wines of Bella Italia, with the team boasting decades of experience working with wines from across the 20 regions, including spending time on the ground visiting top producers.

Italy is such a hard country to generalise about, with the food, wine and culture of sun-drenched Sicily a world away from the Alpine cool of Alto Adige, for example. It’s that diversity that makes Italy one of the most exciting destinations for food and wine, and we’d love to help unlock a bit of that most charming puzzle for you.

Jane Eyre Lunch

Having become the first Australian and woman to be named La Revue de France’s Negociant of the Year last year, which resulted in a huge amount of worldwide interest in her wines, Jane’s small brand continues to go from strength to strength.

We are delighted to be hosting this lunch at Patsy’s, one of Melbourne’s newest restaurants which has been opened by the team behind two of Mornington Peninsula’s best restaurants, Bistro Elba (Sorrento) and Donna Maria (Flinders). Patsy’s is a wine led, meat-free venue with a focus on using the best possible produce with most of the ingredients being sourced from the owner’s garden in Daylesford as well as working with vendors from the Victoria Market.

It’s a great line up of wines (and food!) including two of her recent Australian releases (with her Tassie Pinot made in conjunction with Jim Chatto) as well as two Cru Beaujolais and red burgundies from village wines through to Premier and Grand Crus.

Burgundy Course

If Bordeaux is a one-hundred-piece jigsaw puzzle, then Burgundy has a thousand pieces! Join Philip Rich – who has been taking tours, importing and selling wine and teaching people about the region for over 20 years – over two weeks for a great introduction into what makes Burgundy, in the words of Jasper Morris MW, “intrigue, fascinate, delight, infuriate, disappoint, charm, enrapture and puzzle”!

Week one covers white Burgundy and its most important grape variety, Chardonnay. From Chablis to the great whites of the Côte d’Or, the course includes excellent examples from Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault and Aloxe-Corton, including wines from village level to Premier and Grand Cru. Week two looks at why Burgundy remains the reference standard for great Pinot Noir as we look at and taste wines from both the Côtes de Beaune and Côtes de Nuits, and from communes such as Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, Pommard and Volnay. You will also receive detailed notes from the course and by the end of week two, you will have a few more pieces of the Burgundy jigsaw puzzle than when you started!
